Introducing The McKinley: A Terra Nova Spec Home

It has been many months in the making, but we are laying the groundwork to roll out the first Terra Nova Construction Spec Home!  This is the first of several more to come as we invest in building a portfolio of well designed, unique houses to have available for our clients.  For quite some time we have had a desire to construct a Spec home that embodies the level of quality and detail that we are accustomed to in the Custom Home and Remodeling Industry.  We feel that we have hit the "nail on the head" with The McKinley and are excited as we make final preparations to get this one going!

A lot of research went into determining what should be included in this home.  The open-concept floor plan opens up the kitchen to the hearth room to offer the type space families are looking for.  A dedicated mudroom with side entry is a must have, keeping families organized with built-in cubbies and cabinetry.  The flex room at the front of the house allows homebuyers to adapt the plan to their needs.  It could be a study, spare bedroom, playroom, formal living/dining... the possibilities are endless!

Upstairs features three full bedrooms, all with walk in closets.  One bedroom has a dedicated bath, while the other two share a jack/jill bathroom.  An optional second floor laundry gives homebuyers the opportunity to avoid trips up and down the stairs with all of those clothes!

The design maximizes the use of space by limiting the amount of hallways/circulation to reduce square footage.  This allows us to pack in many of the features homebuyers are looking for in a new construction house:
  1. Wood Floors - Main Floor
  2. Shiloh Brand Cabinetry & Solid Surface Countertops
  3. Minimum "Bronze" Level NAHB Green Certification
  4. 10'-0" Ceilings on First Floor
  5. Ceiling Treatments
  6. Built-In Cabinets/Cubbies
  7. Wireless Infrastructure and Surround Sound
  8. Lighting Controls
  9. Fiber Cement Siding
  10. Detailing on Elevations
  11. And Much More!
Lastly we'll leave you with a few renderings of the front of the house.  Overall our goal was to "think outside of the box" to create visual interest on the exterior instead of designing a rectangular shaped home.

Hopefully we've peaked your interest, we hope to hear from you soon!  You can contact us through our website at www.TerraNovaBuilds.com or by phone at 636-391-6359.
